So Valentine’s is quickly approaching. I’m always trying to think of easy, quick, and fun activities with my boys for holiday decorating. This year I had them do the watercolor painting.
It was so simple. I told them only use these three colors: red, pink/magenta, and purple. Oh and use lots of water to ‘mess them all around’ (super technical instructions - they’re 7 and 9 so keeping it fun and lighthearted). They painted a large sheet of watercolor paper and then we let it dry. Don’t ahve watercolor paints - you can use any medium like crayons or kids paints or markers.
Next step: a paper puncher! Punch away as many hearts as you can. Here’s one from Michaels that’s aroun $15. if you don’t have a punch you could cut hearts or ask the kids to cut them for a fun whimsical look.
Final step - scatter them around where you’d like to see them most. I added them to our family dinner table dough bowl which is always themed depending on which holiday is approaching or season.
Give it a try. It’s fun and super simple and adds a cute little touch to your home. Enjoy!
